KAHLE /ka-hle (Zulu): well Our logo is derived from the West African Adinkra symbol 'Woforo Dua Pa A'. Translating as one half of the proverb, "when you climb a good tree, you are given a push". Meaning, that when you strive to do good/well you will receive support in return. The symbol represents encouragement + cooperation. For us, it is also representative of the collaborative work we do with those wanting to push forward the work of healing, self-discovery and/or social justice. Kahle Therapy & Consulting Services welcomes ALL racialized + marginalized individuals that have historically + disproportionately faced barriers to mental wellness services. We are a 3-B (Black-Owned, Black-Focused + Black-Serving) organization that understands the impact of social injustice, discrimination + systemic barriers on Black + marginalized individuals + communities. Kahle Therapy & Consulting Services’ mission is to address the monumental lack of engagement between Black + BIPOC communities + mental wellness services; due in part to stigma & a lack of cultural competency. We are registered clinical professionals that share many of the unique traits, values + sensibilities of our clients. We acutely understand the traumatic effects of systemic discrimination + offer a safe space for people to manage their emotional + mental wellness. Services are holistic + collaborative. Kahle Therapy + Consulting Services has 12 diverse therapists specializing in a variety of clinical modalities such as 'schema therapy', 'cognitive behavioural therapy', 'EMDR', 'motivational interviewing', 'narrative therapy', 'mindfulness', 'solution-focused therapy' etc. We also provide clinical consulting, supervision, educational activities + trainings for clinicians + organizations committed to moving the needle forward on issues of systemic + Anti-Black Racism (ABR). Through these services we provide an understanding of ABR, unconscious bias + the impact of social injustice + discrimination on the Black community as it relates to your work. We help organizations build cultural capacity, authentic allyship as well as diverse, equitable + inclusive work environments. Services are curated for your unique needs.

The Shea Butter Woman Therapeutic Support Group

WHAT: Shea butter is an extract from the African shea tree. Mostly used as a moisturizer or salve, it has undeniable healing properties. It can transform from a hardened state to soft, warm and enveloping. It is our go to for everything - restoration, comfort and our unmistakable glow. We are no longer aspiring to the trope of the “strong Black woman”; the imaginary creation void of needs, emotions and flaws; who gives the world permission to see past our humanity. We aspire to collectivity, growth, support, and self-care. The Shea Butter Woman is a therapeutic social group with weekly themes that directly impact Black women. A safe space to join a small community of like-minded Black women to share, listen, support, and practice care/growth based strategies. WHEN: The Shea Butter Woman will meet weekly for 5 consecutive weeks from 6:30pm-8:00pm. New dates for Series 2 coming soon. WHERE: Meetings will be virtual/online via doxy.me. WHO - We welcome any Black woman wishing to connect & grow; who is willing to commit to the practices aimed at integrating group discussions to real world practice.
