I am a trauma-informed therapist with a specialized focus on supporting Black women as they navigate complex, relational, intergenerational, and historical trauma. This work is not just what I do it is my purpose. I am deeply committed to creating spaces where Black women feel seen, heard, and supported in their healing journeys.
My practice honors the layered impact of personal and collective experiences, including childhood sexual abuse, emotional and psychological abuse, intimate partner violence, and racial trauma encountered in workplaces, schools, and communities. I approach this work through a culturally conscious and anti-oppressive lens, centering healing, empowerment, and connection.
I use an integrative, client-centered approach that draws from a variety of evidence-based and holistic modalities, including Narrative Therapy, anti-racist Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Ego State Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, sound healing, and spirituality-informed practices. These methods support Black women in reconnecting with their inner strength, cultivating emotional safety, and reclaiming agency in their lives.
I also work with Black women navigating anxiety, depression, grief, bereavement, life transitions, and the emotional and psychological shifts associated with perimenopause and menopause acknowledging how racialized and gendered experiences shape these challenges.
Additionally, I offer specialized support for Black students in post-secondary education, helping them cope with academic stress, racial discrimination, systemic barriers, and identity development in ways that foster resilience, self-advocacy, and holistic well-being.
I am currently a Ph.D. student, with a research interest in exploring Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as a culturally conscious tool to help reduce the distress of childhood sexual abuse memories among Black women.

Tree of Life, COURRAGE , Glimmers, OUTRRAGE, DBT skills groups

Trauma Recovery and Resilience Support Groups Tree of Life developed by Ncazelo Ncube : A strengths-based group for trauma survivors that helps individuals construct a preferred, empowering narrative focused on resilience rather than problems. Participants use this story to manage trauma and reduce overwhelming emotions that can lead to maladaptive behaviors. COURRAGE developed by Ncazelo Ncube : A therapeutic methodology designed to support women experiencing complex trauma and adversity. It offers a space to reimagine their identity, build strength, and envision a hopeful future. Glimmers: Based on Deb Dana's concept, this group helps participants identify and savor small, positive moments—"glimmers"—that anchor them in safety and connection. These moments can come from nature, relationships, creativity, or sensory experiences, and support healing through embodied feelings of joy, peace, and happiness. OUTTRAGED developed by Ncazelo Ncube : A collective narrative therapy framework for engaging men and boys in violence prevention. Focused on gender-based violence, this group fosters awareness, behavioral change, and the development of personal and social responsibility in pursuit of justice and equality. DBT Skills Training: A structured group that teaches Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills to help individuals manage intense emotions and problematic behaviors, including anger, disordered eating, and addictions. The focus is on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness.
