I understand that vulnerability in therapy can be new and intimidating work for some of us. I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental and comforting environment for those from various backgrounds. My primary focus is centred on supporting young adults and students struggling the transitional anxiety/depression and individuals who may struggle with intergenerational trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and emotional regulation.
In my experience, I have learned that it takes courage to seek therapy and self-compassion to show up for ourselves continuously. Cultural competence is important in my practice and I understand the cultural nuances that influence minorities in our community. I understand first-hand how depression and anxiety can seep into every part of our life and create layers of anger, shame and guilt. Both my background and life experiences help me effectively work alongside racialized queer & POC in our community. I am deeply committed to supporting clients through a strength-based approach with the client’s goals in mind.
