Global Mind Emancipation Health and Social Work Services (GMEHSS) is a 3B (Black owned, Black focused, Black serving) mental health and wellness practice dedicated to providing assessment-informed and clinically rigorous psychotherapeutic services grounded in trauma-informed, culturally responsive and evidence-based methods.
Founded by David Grant, GMEHSS work recognizes health as holistic, reflecting the interconnected relationship between our psychological, physical, spiritual, social, cultural, and emotional well-being. When the mind is entrapped in trauma, pain, confusion and other powerful internal forces, it can prevent our health from functioning at an optimal level. Hence, our work seeks to emancipate our minds to achieve improved functioning, agency, and balance.

We assess and treat a broad range of mental health concerns across the lifespan, including but not limited to:
• Depressive disorders and mood-related difficulties
• Anxiety disorders and stress-related conditions
• Sleep-related difficulties
• Substance Use-related difficulties
• Psychological trauma, including complex trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
• Prison-to-community reintegration challenges
• Anti-Black Racial trauma
• Suicidal and self-harm risk, and suicide attempt recovery
• Attachment-related difficulties
• Immigration and settlement stress
