Asking for help during a time of need is difficult. However, it exemplifies a great deal of strength, insight, courage and humility— desirable characteristics that will go a long way in navigating the complex world in which we live. Yet, contradictory messages from society tells us that strength and courage mean that we have to go it alone. I’m here to tell you, however, that this is simply not true!
If you have tried to make some changes but have failed to hit the mark, or intuitively know that things have to change but don’t know where to start, I can help. As a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist (MSW, RSW), I am professionally trained to help you achieve the goals and changes you wish to see. I’ve been working with individuals, and their families, to overcome issues of distress and family discord since 2007. In my private practice I focus on seeing individual clients. I address issues that span: mood and anxiety, stress, relationships, life transitions and other issues that impede self-efficacy and quality relationships.
I draw on a number of therapeutic models, primarily combining Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Family Systems Theory to inform my work. Together we will work through your challenges, harness your strengths, gain perspective and move toward that state of balance we all seek. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to all prospective clients and will be happy to answer any questions that will help you make an informed choice. I see clients in person and virtually. During the COVID-19 pandemic in-person appointments might be limited. (Please note that free consults are over telephone only.) I look forward to joining you on your journey of change.
