Hello! My name is Ruth Virgo. I am excited that you are taking the time to read my Bio. I am aware that journeying through counselling can look and feel differently for everyone. Hence, I respect and admire differences. My goal is to work collaboratively with you on your journey to renew mind and spirit, feeling hopeful in times of hopelessness.
I am a registered social worker/psychotherapist with the Ontario Colleges of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I have a Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and is currently a PhD Candidate at Martin Luther University, focusing on Human Relationship - Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy.

The therapeutic modalities that I primarily used are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused and Spiritual Care with an underlying foundation of person-centred and strength-based approaches. In addition, I try to incorporate elements of narrative therapy, trauma-informed with an awareness of the Laws of Health and their relations to mental health and well-being - connecting body, mind, and spirit!
