We work from a strength based, trauma informed framework, evidence-based practices and are committed to an anti-oppressive approach.

    We provide counselling to those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other emotional challenges. We also offer pre-marital and couples counselling, both from the clinical and biblical perspective upon request, Grief and loss, racial trauma, parental couching and work with adopted children/adoptive parents.

    We provide a nurturing, compassionate and confidential setting, where clients can identify their emotional challenges, gain capacity to heal and grow from these challenges, trauma and loss. Clients receive unbiased feedback that enables them to see things from a different perspective. Clients also develop good coping mechanisms to help alleviate the challenges. During your sessions we provide guidance, support, and journey with you to help you overcome challenges, embrace psychological flexibility, develop healthier habits, accept vulnerability, connect with your purpose, and live a more value driven life.

    Cross Cultural Counselling
    We utilize cross cultural counselling approaches, where we take into consideration your cultural values and belief system while formulating your treatment goals. We also understand the impact of racism, discrimination, and racial trauma on our mental wellbeing, especially if it goes unaddressed for a long period of time. Racial trauma can lead to some major mental health complications if left unaddressed, which is why it’s vital to develop techniques to help manage and heal from the pain. Finding a therapist who understands who you are and what you have gone through is very important. At S A Counselling Services, we understand the impact of racism, discrimination, unconscious bias and racial trauma. We would tailor your treatment plan to meet your unique needs
    We also offer Christian / faith-based counselling upon request, where we use an integrative approach, incorporating spiritual / biblical concepts with Clinical approaches.
